The Lamar Cabin

The Stewart Family

Sshhhh, don't tell anyone about this place! Our cabin felt so spacious after staying in hotel rooms the rest of our trip. It felt more like a house than a cabin, and had all the details of home; very clean, nice furnishings and everything you need in the kitchen. We are so glad to have discovered this place, and the town of Silver Gate is beautiful...massive mountains and babbling creeks. Thanks Jeff and Karen!

To say we had a wonderful time at your cabin doesn't even come close! I feel so lucky to have found this place. It was very warm and cozy, and we had everything we needed to make delicious meals when we returned home. Our experience sharing your cabin with our nephew was magical.

We stayed in these wonderful cabins for a week; 2 sets of grandparents, their children, and 4 youg grandchildren 7 and under. There was plenty of room for everyone and a great time was had by all. This is the perfect homebase to explore Yellowstone.

One of our favorite VRBOs in a favorite location! We visit the Lamar Valley annually in May. This is our 5th stay in this cabin, and I'd reserve it 10 years out if I could! We love the cabin (fits many comfortably!), the location, and our interactions with Karen and her managers in Silver Gate. What a wonderful place to stay!

Comfortable, beautiful cabin that fit all our needs. We recently stayed in the Lamar Valley Cabin and were very pleased. We had young children and felt the accommodations fit us well. The bed we slept in was quite comfortable, and it was nice having an open kitchen to the living area. W/D came in handy as well as the two bathrooms. We saw a black bear and a moose from the cabin windows making us feel like we were right in the park itself. I'd definitely recommend this property.

Lamar Valley Cabin is a perfectly located cabin is so close to the park entrance that you might miss it if you are not careful. Accommodations were ideal and the cabin itself was fantastic. Easy to deal with the owner and an excellent $ value for being so close to the park entrance.

Very quaint and so very close to Yellowstone park. I have stayed here many times and it is truly a diamond in the rough. There is plenty of lodging in the Cooke City area but none offer the comfort and homeyness of this well appointed cabin. As far as I am concerned this really is the best spot to lodge when visiting the Yellowstone area.

It's an extremely comfortable place to stay. The cabin was clean, was well equipped, and everything worked as the instructions said. The propane heater was a nice touch since it did get quite cold at night and the extra boost to the heat was nice and cozy. The cabin is only a mile outside the Yellowstone Northeast entrance which makes it a quick trip into the Park and especially to Lamar Valley where many animals reside. It's just a nice place to come back to after a day Yellowstone.

Perfect location to northeast park hiking and fishing as well as Beartooth Hwy and Clarks Fork. Comfy comfy beds x 10! What a relief after first four nights in cabins so comfy.

Silver Gate cabin The weather was cold so we really enjoyed the warmth of the gas wood stove in the evenings. Cabin was comfortable and clean. There were plenty of towels and sheets and the kitchen was well-stocked. Recommend driving the Beartooth Highway to see marmots, pikas, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and lots of spectacular scenery on the tundra.

Comfortable Home in Excellent Location near Yellowstone Beautiful home in excellent location near the Northeast entrance of Yellowstone. Great kitchen and comfortable beds. We enjoyed returning to relax each night after a full day at the park. The owner was very helpful in providing information on the area. Definitely would recommend the property and hope to return again.

PERFECT! Absolutely perfect!! My family and I immediately felt at home the moment we stepped in! Downstairs the living room and kitchen are super comfortable and have everthing you need. From the living room window we could see mountain goats with a spotting scope. The breakfast nook is an absolutely perfect for family meals - great views and a great comfy spot. The kitchen has everything we needed for cooking and the large windows were great! We saw a bull buffalo our first morning there and then continued to see him most days. One thing that isn't listed is that there is a washer and dryer - very helpful to use. The bedrooms are all great too! The one at the top of the stairs is so dreamy to look out the window at the mountains and stars! What a perfect place. Then of course Silver Gate and Cooke City are wonderful little towns to wander around in too. And being super close to the NE park entrance made it so handy to go into the park early in the morning and stay late into the evening.

Winter Wonderland We loved our stay here. The view from every single window was amazing (even from the bathrooms!) It was comfortable, convenient, and simply beautiful. The furnishings and amenities are perfectly suited to the place and activities. We've stayed in a lot of cabins in the mountains and this one tops the list!

Cozy, comfortable home "Cabin" doesn't do this justice! We were delighted at the spacious, well-maintained place to call home for four days. Quiet and very comfortable. Days in the park, wolf-watching, hiking and all of it made for a wonderful vacation with our daughter and son-in-law. We especially enjoyed the great kitchen (well-equipped) to prepare meals together and then lounging while comparing stories of the day. Beautiful views to watch the sun on the mountains. Having come to Lamar Valley for the wildlife and to get away from crowds, this is the PERFECT spot. Will definitely come again, no question about it. Very easy reservation process, no problems, great owners, thank you so much!

Silver Falls Cabin

Home on the Range, Sentinel Butte, ND

Silver Falls cabin is a perfect base camp for visiting Yellowstone and the surrounding area. The cabin is spacious, modern, and is charmingly decorated. It has all the amenities a person really needs. Beds are comfortable and the living room is very cozy. We have stayed at this cabin a handful of times and it has always been a pleasant experience. Karen is a great communicator, quick to respond, and always willing to go out of her way if we need something. We will continue to book this cabin for our yearly winter getaway.

Michael Power, AZ

The cabin met all of our expectations. There were eight of us, six adults and two teen boys (15), staying four nights. At no time did it feel crowded. Four sleeping areas (three bedrooms and a loft) and two full baths, provided privacy when needed and no waits for the bathroom. The living room and dining room, were great for visiting, relaxing, planning our days and reliving them that night. The kitchen was fully stocked with needed utensils, dishes and cooking necessities. Enough for all eight of us and enough space in the refrigerator for the food. We usually ate breakfast and dinner, using the dishwasher to be sure we had clean what we needed from morning to evening. The washing machine was a big bonus. We had already been on the road for almost a week by the time we arrived, so clean clothes were needed.

The master bedroom is a wonder, with views to match. There is a big bedroom on the first floor if your party includes someone who does not want to climb stairs. Wildlife comes to you, literally, and Silver Gate is a wonderful location only one mile to the park. Do not miss Stop The Car Trading Post in Silver Gate and The Bearclaw Bakery in Cooke City just three miles up the road. Early morning visits into the park's Soda Butte and Lamar Valleys, provided multiple sightings of moose, pronghorn, bison, deer, bighorn sheep, elk and mountain goat and to top it off, grizzlies, black bears and wolves.

The cabin is clean, spacious, well lit, and the owners are wonderful. I would recommend Silver Falls cabin to everyone. We will be back.

I'm feeling quite a loss for words at just how much I have enjoyed my stay. Personally, this is the best I've seen as far as accommodations in Yellowstone. Lamar Valley and Silver Gate and very special places. Get up early for your best chances to see animals. While staying at Silver Falls I saw big-horned sheep, grizzlies, black bears and wolves. It was great to be so close to the park and getting into the park from the cabin took about one minute!

I fished from the Northeast Entrance, just 1/4 mile up the road and caught many fish, lots of action. We took fin clips for DNA analysis and all fish were Yellowstone cats, no Brookies! We LOVE your cabin. It's so nicely designed and furnished. We stayed in many cabins on our trip and this is the best yet! We hope we treated it well.

We were not sure if we should home-base here or split our time between here and West Yellowstone. So glad we picked here! The town is really quiet and your place is beautiful and very clean!  Very welcoming feeling. Would love to come back and see this place in the winter. We learned only 6 people live in Silver Gate in the winter, crazy!

Comfortable and So Close to the Park We've always stayed near the northeast entrance to Yellowstone in a lodge, but this cabin is a much better option for us: quiet, comfortable, and less than two minutes from the Park. The new renovation is stunning, the owners have a unique, classic yet homey and cozy sense of design and everything was new and in great working order! Also very very clean. We enjoyed speaking with the owners and one of the highlights of our trip was having Jackson, the bison, in the backyard when we woke up. We loved leaving the cabin in the early morning and experiencing nothing but cool and quiet, and also enjoyed eating lunch on the new deck. Highly recommended!

Perfect Cabin. Used this cabin as a base camp for wildlife photography in the park. This was my 19th season in the park and I wish I had found this cabin sooner. Owners were a pleasure to coordinate with. It was perfect and everything I needed. Less than one minute to the northeast entrance. Even had a black bear roaming around on the property. Cabin is equipped with wifi and all your basic needs can be found across the street or a short drive up to Cooke. Can't beat the location. Will definitely return.

Great cabin in the woods. I stayed two weeks in the Silver Falls cabin and used it as a base for day trips into the backcountry in Yellowstone and up Lulu and Daisy pass. The cabin was the perfect place to stage those trips; it has all the comforts one needs to recover from a long day in the wintery backcountry; very hot water on demand, a kitchen that allowed me to cook great meals, a very comfy bed, and it is very quiet. The owners, though i have not met them, were very friendly, helpful and got back to me more than once about questions on the area. I highly recommend the cabin!

A lovely cabin. Has all the necessities for a comfortable stay at home away from home, eg fully equipped bathrooms & kitchen, comfy arm chairs, Wi-fi & a really comfortable beds. Everything is clean & in good working order. It's only a short walk across the road for decent meal at the cafe/restaurant across the road (thankfully open at 10pm after a long day) and a short drive to great wolf watching spots. Owners Karen and Jeff are easy to talk to, and make it a point to make sure everything is fine. We really enjoyed our stay there! Would have no hesitation recommending this lovely little cabin.

Great cabin! We had a wonderful long weekend staying at this Silvergate cabin. It is extremely well-built and cozy, nice furniture, very clean when we arrived, and the photos are very accurate.  The internet worked well, although at times it can be fairly slow in the entire area. A highlight of our trip was driving the Beartooth Highway to Red Lodge and back, and this was the perfect location. The owners were incredibly responsive and very easy to work with. I would stay again and would recommend it
